Should we leave all-talk on and keep quiet? :norty:

So who do we have tonight then Benny, Lib, me and ?

:crying: ... me

I thought there was someone else!!!
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Benny

I have a great idea. Split up, that'll confuse 'em.

You might have something there. Because if we lose spectacularly then there would be no objection to the admins forming a team in any future tournament ladder. :norty:

So what do people think?
Did it work and does it have potential? Could this be made to work as a  ladder style tournament?

Wednesday nights seem to be a reasonable choice and a start time of 19:30 - 20:00 should be acceptable for most.

The match didn't seem to take too long to play so we could probably get two rounds in per server on the night and still have a fun session afterwards?

We could gradually work through a campaign over a period of a couple of weeks and the winner would be the team with the highest total score? Or we could play off the top two on one level to decide?

I enjoyed it. I think it could work quite well, we just need to make sure that the admin joins last so the team swapping is in hand.

Locking the door is vital but other than that, free-for all.

Ladder style could work, one map, both sides is enough to start with I think. I don't think you need to specify a day as there are enough admins to administer most nights.

I think we should try it again next week, 8pm kick off on both servers. 4 teams, one chat room.

If that works we can do the ladder piece.

(From my side, even though we won I thought we were pretty poor really, no-one's fault, I think we rushed it, trying to get too far to quickly, as they did) I did enjoy it though.

Yes I think we panicked a bit. A more methodical approach might be better.

Right team-wise. Should we stick together as an admin team, should we gather names and randomly pick teams or should we let people create their own teams?

By setting a day then people should be able to plan ahead and make sure they're available. We can always add other days on an ad-hoc basis as we get going.

Decision made. We'll let people pick their own teams.

So we have one team? Liberator, Benny, Dr Sadako and Sn00ks.
As for a name, what about the Crypt Kicker Collective or The Zombie Whordes?

I see you tweaked the name I came up with, it looks better now.

How about this to troll for teams?

Well we had fun and we want more.

Do you think you can punt?
Is your pouncing not poncy?
Are your bowels nice and loose?
Know how to tongue effectively?
Have you got three mates who think they're good?
Do you think you've got what it takes to be the dMw L4D champions?

dMw Entertainments proudly present the L4D Ladder Tournament thingy.

The ladder will consist of a number of teams playing round-robin tournament matches on versus L4D maps; starting with the first map in the campaign and working through to the end over the following weeks.
The two teams with the highest combined scores will go through to the final which will be played on one level using the same rules.

Matches will initially be played on Wednesday nights starting between 19:30 and 20:00. This is flexible and can be changed to suit the team’s availabilities.

Rules
1. Each level will be played twice with teams taking it in turns to start as Survivors.
2. The combined scores of each round will be added to the teams overall score in the ladder.
3. All-talk will be turned off.
4. The Saferoom door will be locked.
5. Exploitation of any map flaws or unsportsmanlike behaviour will not be tolerated.
6. Each team must nominate one person to act as leader and be responsible for ensuring players turn up. This person must also note of the scores and post them; taking screen shots and keeping them for later verification if required.
7. Bots will not be used to fill vacant slots.

So what are you waiting for?
Roll up, roll up! Make your mark, draw a line in the sand and stand by your beds!
Compile your team and post it.

Teams
The Zombie Whordes.
Benny the ball
Sn00ks the snooky
Liberator the errr… liberator
Dr Sadako the surgeon

No? OK, have you got three acquaintances who aren't rubbish?
Sod it, do you know three people who can walk and breath at the same time ?
Do you think you've got what it takes to be the dMw L4D champions?

Have added the relevant posts (was a little bored).

Also locked them so we can keep the banter in one area and the ladder clean so you can always find what you need.

Feel free to edit...

Dr Sadako

So are we starting the first ladder match tonight?

Is it possible to have the saferoom locked for say 1 minute before the match starts so everyone have a chance to join and some tactics. I felt it was very nonDMW like when the other team last match ran out before Benny had even joined.

Actually it was me who hadn't joined, but yes we need to add a rule that the Survivors do not leave the saferoom until both teams have acknowledged that they are ready to start. Then All-talk is turned off and they can start.

Yes I think we're having our first match tonight against GM's boys at 20:00 BST. They have not yet confirmed though :g:
