Well I had some great fun but ......... I made about every major noob mistake in the book :norty:

First - dragged my butt to the track after just waking up from my siesta at the old folks home ..... not even time for a cup of coffee.  Quali had already started.  Managed a couple of laps and felt good qualifying 2nd.

Second - make sure to put an hours worth of gas in the freaking car before an hour race. I blame that on the old lazy bastiches here at the home ....... just not an organized pit crew.  So I spent the 1st 6 laps using the F12 key to let the crew know I would need gas ... a lot of gas ...... for the pitstop on lap 6.  Crew was a bit confused (addled is more like it) and gave me 65% which was way too much - at the end of the race I still had 25% of a tank :ranting2:

Third - Finished the race in 4th ....... well not exactly ......... thought I had finished :crying: and was coasting through the big ess when CrazyR1 and BoB the Bike go flying past and I notice that I drop to 5th.  By the time I got it in gear, Crazy had a 4 sec lead, but I vainly tried to catch up to him.

Did have some good fun along the way ..... by the middle of the race I had caught up with MilleSabords, Old Bloke and CrazyR1.  Ran at the rear of that pack for quite a few laps until Old Bloke went a bit wide on a turn allowing MilleSabords and me to slip past.  Then I was doggin' Mille for a while looking for a weak spot while Crazy was opening a bit of a gap ahead of us.  Going down the back straight side by side with Mille, headed towards the treacherous downhill chicane, we touched slightly , poor Milles went around and into the big sand pit.  Sorry that battle had to end that way.

15 minutes left in the race - and CrazyR1 was almost 5 sec ahead of me.  Caught up with him and had a couple good laps on his tail looking for a way around.  Crazy must have been nervous through the downhill chicane and went wide exiting and I just got past him with just 4 min left ..... rest of that story is in Mistake 3 at the top :doh:

Sorry that we apparently lost 2 racers, MilleSabords and Jamin, to bad connections :sad:

Congrats to Venca, DeeSlider, and Seany for the top spots.  Wish I had had it together ..... might have given Venca a good run for it as we were so often close in quali practice during the week.

Unfortunate EasyEd, I wonder what had happened when I saw you pit so early, thought it might have been tires.

For me the race went pretty much as I expected (except I was higher up the field then I had hoped), a battle against the tires and not much else.  Pretty much sat in third for the whole race except for a bit of a dice with Ben after his pit.  I couldn't keep up with Dee, he pulled away from me by a few tenths every lap.  Looked like it was the same story for him and Venca and the same for who ever was behind me.  Sounds like all the fun was down the field a bit.

I qualified 4th behind Evan, but he was late to the grid for some reason and started from the back.  :blink:  puting me on 3rd.

Had a good start and kept my position, (better than last week where I dropped 5 places on the first lap!)  and tried to hang on the the back of easyed.  I see now he had a fuel issue and had to pit early, unlucky mate.

I was up to second, Venca was out of sight in front so just tried to keep it smooth and not fall off.  I was hoping Venca would need a tire change so I could catch up, but that didn't happen.  So I finished 2nd, a good result, happy with that.

Congrats to all the other finishers.

I am working afternoons next week, so won't be on in the evening, but I'll be taking Thursday off.  Can't let a silly thing like work get in the way of racing  :boxing:
