Hi Guys,

As some of you know my GFX died and I am looking for a replacement.
I have come across a potential issue.

Until now I hadn't realised there were different versions of PCI-E.

I have been looking at this card

XFX 9600 GSO XXX EDITION 680 MHZ CORE

But I don't know if it will be compatable with my AN8 SLI ASUS motherboard.

And I dont know how I would find out if it is.

Please Help

:)

It  should be fine mate, if it use 2.0 it is compatable with 1.0 just wont be as fast as it should.

That is my understanding.

Its worth checking with the M/B manufacturer for their confirmation that it will work with later generations of PCI-E (I know some M/Bs are not forwards compatible)

However, as Toby said it *should* be ok.

I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.
