Admin responsibilities

As we have a few new guys I thought I would point some things I want you to do for me. First is map choice. If you are on and there are only a few plays, Don't let the map rotation play out. A lot of map/mode combos don't work. Just boot RconMax up and pick what you which will work. I normally play a lot of HQ's and avoid Dominations

Players without, tag's if you point someone to the forum and they have been knocking around on the server a bit and you think there right for a trail, let me know.

Last thing. Lets do more pimping. Do what you can to get a game going.

It's a shame it's not fully steam integrated. A lot of the L4D fill up is from the invite spam that goes out through friends...

Unless you get everyone to add the game into Steam, which some have...

This is vital for an admin IMO. you don't have admin chat in CoD4.

Open steam games, add non-steam game and the always connect via steam.

I had a play with Rconmax on an empty server last night, think Ive got the hang of it. :g:
Havent been able to find the key bind for kick, ban, kill pets and steal bank account details. :devil:

I have to admin RconMax is not the easiest of programs to get the hang of. Admin Chat and whispering to certain people was something I never really found easy.

If you want a dummy run I'll happily join the server and you can practice telling me off, kicking and banning me. Sometimes it's easier to do a live practice. Just so long you unban me at the end of course

I found jumping on the server when it was empty and alt tabing out, then changing maps, game modes, sending messages and actualy kicked myself as well.

Don't tell Blunt I told you this but he was regularly accidentally banning himself from the CS server. His ever-so-embarrassed posts in admin asking to be unbanned were hilarious.

I too have managed to ban myself - not only from the game servers but also from the forum which was particularly clever. I then had to email TL to ask him to unban me.... lol you can imagine how that conversation went :doh:

I didn't Ban myself that just seemed like tempting fate, I know how to do it. But a good kicking is always worth a punt if you pardon the pun!
