Just to choose one spelling (subject to change) for a thread title, we have Armitage, b00n, Bellanie, DannagE, Jim, KKND, Luminance, lunares and myself all volunteering to help set up the Aion guild.

So in this thread it would be nice to see a list of things you want to see provided by the forum to facilitate the new game, any draft rules for the Legion and things like the Legion philosophy & goals, structure etc, suitably tweaked for Aion lore and objectives.  Plus, if you have any other ideas then we'd love to see them in here so that we can prep for the game launch properly.  Remember, there's not long left!

Upcoming Aion Dates:

Aion Open Beta: September 6th ââ,¬â€œ 13th

Aion Pre-Select: September 18th (where you can choose your character names and servers before anyone else)

Aion Headstart: September 20th

Aion Official North American Release: September 22nd

Aion Official European Release: September 25th

My initial thoughts:

• a legion acronym of DML (seems to fit in and not clash)
• forum structure to be remain fairly open to all forum readers with just a single 'Members Only' section (much like the current WoW-DMR structure)
• simple Legion structure with Members, Council and if needed a single person holding the Legion's reins as head of the Legion.

Just thought I'd mention that the Legion bank had limited access options in closed beta as I recall - either you had full access or no access (default was no access for everyone except legion founder).  Was a bit awkward if you're used to custom access levels ala WoW.

Open beta is now patch 1.5 though so this may change.

I'm not sure I am going to get on the head start as I am on holiday from 15/20th of Sept. I'll see what Mrs has to say.

As formulating things on my own isn't my key features, I've been searching the net to see if I could find better formulated texts or rules/guide lines, And adapted them a bit (actually, more then a bit), but it could use a bit more help from you guys.

The WoW - dMr philosophy is pretty what Dead Men Legion should have, though in my experiences in WoW, not everyone shares common knowledge  regarding player vs player behavior, so maybe it wouldn't hurt to mention them:

- Communicate with your officers.
 Communication is vital for any guild survival, and social atmosphere. Officers are online most the time and you can communicate with them through in-game mail, in-game whispers, forum messages etc.

There is no excuse for not letting us know if:
a. you are not having fun
b. feel you are missing out on anything
c. if you disagree with any decision or action the guild has made.
d. if your interests and goals drift away from those of the guild.

The leaders want to hear from you. It is their job to look at the concern from all angles, especially yours. Please do not stay silent. Maybe there are things we can do better and we can't improve if we dont hear from you.

Do not use guild chat or forum topics, for pressure relieving. This most likely will have the opposite effect, of what you are trying to say.

Also keep from using profanity, an occasional slip isn't too bad but don't over do it. Its not something to be proud off, and it serves no real constructive purpose.


- Play intelligently, politely and respectfully.  
You are mostly free to do what you want, with no peer pressure. But we ask that you be patient, ethical and respectful of everyone you meet in-game.

I.e. if you leave a pick-up group because they are making "poor choices", please do so at the right time and with a polite word.

Also, if a fellow guild member is saying things, you find offensive, please mention it to him/her, before things get out of hand. Possibly he/she isn't aware that its (that) offensive to you. If he/she continues, please contact an officer as mentioned above, before fighting it out in the open (guild chat, forum etc.) and they'll take appropriate actions.

Proposal for comment:

I propose that the above volunteers, Armitage, b00n, Bellanie, DannagE, DuVeL, Jim, KKND, Luminance, lunares, valdeko and I, will form a loose 'Founding Members' Club' for DML and share the setup costs of the Legion (est 12,000 Kinah) to be reimbursed from DML's Legion Bank when possible.  Other members may contribute to start up costs and costs will reduce the more members contribute.  Initially I propose that I be the one to open the Legion at the Sanctuary, so early cash donations will be needed as L10 comes around pretty quickly.

I further propose that the Founding Members manage the Legion for a period of up to 2 months from launch.  Before the end of this period the Founding Members will formalise the Legion structure and set in place documented rules for the ongoing administration of the Legion.  This will allow time for members to see if they will be continuing to play the game and for a proper set of rules and a Council  to be established.

I also propose that by the end of the two month period I pass leadership of the Legion to a newly agreed DML Council member (this might or might not be one of the Founding Members).  

If the game is well supported then I propose that the new head of the Legion would be given dMw Game Admin status and take on responsiblity for running the Aion section within dMw and the other responsiblities & duties accompanying Game Admin status.

The proposal is for this Legion to remain a dMw Legion in terms of its ethics and standards and for leadership of the Legion to be retained within dMw.

I have to agree with b00n, this is a wise start of a new guild in a new game.

I reckon we might need to do them easy moneytrips.
Do the 100 delivery packages which might help for some nice money.
BTW, I'm checking sites for the game and will buy it soon (probably tomorrow).
 
Might need some help as it's been a long time I've played a MMO.

So first whe gonna save some money right that means whe not gonna buy stuff before...?

You really don't need to buy much at all till level 10. If you want you can buy the cheap armor/weapons from vendors, but otherwise I would just save your money.

And of course don't forget to buy your skill books from trainer.
