I know there are several bandwidth monitoring programs out there and I've tried a few.

However I'm looking for one which will also tell me which program is using what bandwidth. (It'd be doubly nice to know on which PC on the network but I'm guessing that's a bit too much).

Anyone know of such a thing?

Thanks

no peanuts

NetLimiter might work for you. Havnt used it myself so can't really say for sure.

Is this a big network through a firewall? Switches? perhaps a nice sniffer on a port...

Nice one thanks. I looked at NetLimiter but have to wait for V3 to run on Windows 7.

(Windows 7 compatibility 03.03.2009, NetLimiter Team
Several users had problems installing and running NetLimiter 2 on new operating system Windows 7 (currently in a BETA stage). NetLimiter 2 was not developed for this OS and due to massive system changes is not compatible with it. These changes prevent us to make NetLimiter 2 fully compatible with Windows 7, but upcoming NetLimiter 3 will support Win7 as its native operating system.)

Benny, It's not a big network - just a few PC's with individual firewalls going through a switch. It's just frustrating that I kill everything and the bandwidth is still through the roof. I'd like to pin it down to something.

No sure what (a nice sniffer on a port) means tbh.

Something like what you are looking for is built into windows 7 ;)
press the windows key, in the search field type resmon and choose the network tap
