(first of all, sorry for making a 2nd topic about Aion, but I felt this new topic is so different from the other one, that I would have hijacked it otherwise. Plus I wasn't sure where-else to create this topic rather then the one it is in now.)

As the release of Aion gets closer and closer, I was wondering if dMw already has plans to create a guild in it. Seems like there is quite a bit of people going to try it out, and of course the game seems to be very well suitable for it.

If not, but when deadmen founders/admins are open for suggestions then please read on.

Ever since I joined my first good social active guild in wow 1.0 (on the server aggrammar back then) I found that it enhanced the game play considerably, even though I didn't know any of the people yet. The need for Pugs decreased, advancing in questlines became more doable, and hell the first attempts in 10 and later 40 man raids where a blast.

The better I got to know the people the more fun it became to play the game. And since I've played most off my greatest WoW-moments within Silver Oak Guardians (wich by then were all ready associated with dMw), I thought it would be nice to start off a guild with people I know, and with whom I enjoyed playing (not only in WoW, but also other games), rather then starting from scratch again.

My plan is to start off a social guild, with mature thinking players, that are willing to help out each other (should be natural of course) and don't have their minds set on pwning any lower leveled players in the 25+ PvPvE section off the game. The goal is not to start of raiding asap, but only after most of the guild progressed towards the end game bit, and people got to know their clas(ses) so they'll play the one they like best rather then sticking with the first one they picked, just to get a piece of the action.

As my guildmastering experience is slim (have been leading the main server PvP group in my Horde days, but thats slightly different), all help in creating the guild is very welcome.
Also I'll happily settle for an admin spot, and give the guildmaster position to someone more capable or willing to put in a lot more effort into the too be founded guild. As my goal is to have an strong and enjoyable guild, rather then being a master of it.

As for the guild details, my plan is to start the guild on the side of the Elyos, after reading both lore books this side appealed more to me then the Asmodians. The server is to be chosen on launch (well people that preordered, get a 48 hour headstart, so it will most definitely be sooner, unless it proved to be to hard to purchase a guild charter, or something like that). I all ready have working title for a non dMw guild: Keepers of Sanctuary, since it suits the angelic elyos side. But I'd rather see it become dMf, dead Men flying, because: raiding won't be main goal; we don't have a aerial gameing part at dMw;  Aion has a.f.a.I.k., lots of areal combats.

So to recap:
- is there allready a plan to have an dMw guild in Aion?
- if not, can we create a deadmen guild?
- if so, can we discuss/work out a plan to have a guild like structure ready at launch?

I won't be able to respond before 5 pm during the weekdays, but after that I'm open for any communication/discussion via gmail, teamspeak, steam or PM's.

As for non-admins, who of the people that are going to play Aion are interested into joining this guild?

Lumi,

I have the CE Edition pre-purchased over Steam and I'll definitely be trying it out, I plan to set up a dMw guild as soon as possible.  I should have posted some details I guess, but have been on hols and not long been back.  Give me a couple of days and I'll confirm.  Lots of detail still to be discussed and nothing is set in stone yet.

Count me in. :)

Elyos is a good choice, having played both I find them preferable.

Btw, last I heard US release was 3 days before EU release, but preorder headstart is supposed to start at the same time, which means EU players will get 5 days headstart instead of 2... not sure if that's been confirmed one way or the other though.

If we're going to have a few people starting around the same time, at might be worth coordinating which type of classes people are intending to play, as having a more or less premade group available becomes very handy for getting through elite group quests quite early on (not wanting to give too much away ;)).  Personally, I'm flexible so I'll happily play a tank or healer depending on how other people choose.

Luminance

That would be nice indeed bOOn if that is true.

@ TL, great, I'll await your respons than.

I will be trying this game out as well.

Elyos does seem the better choice between them and the asmodean.
I will try out a priest but have not decided yet if it will be a chanter or cleric.

Quick point for general discussion re Asmodian v Elyos.

My only concern with Elyos is that they look too nice - the practical side effect of this (if it follows WoW lines) will be that the younger kiddies will tend to go for the bright & pretty Elyos whilst a slightly more mature audience will gather on the ugly Asmodian side.  (see some of the Alliance v Horde differences in WoW atm).

Thoughts?

This was absolutely the reverse of my experience in beta.  I agree that's how it would appear from wow experience, but I found a good deal of immature kids on Asmodean side, while on Elyos my brother and I actually formed a small (temporary) guild of extremely well-mannered, patient and mature people to play through a few of the beta weekends. Not saying there are no kiddies but there were certainly not more on Elyos, probably less that I encountered.

Lookswise both races are practically identical, excluding the pale/dark skin of the Asmodeans, although I did enjoy the extra effort that appears to have gone into the Elyos zones. In fairness I guess the Asmo zones are not supposed to be nice to look at though.

If it helps at all, I've picked the 'evil' side in every MMO I've ever played, and started out with my brother as Asmo in Aion, but having played both sides I'll be going Elyos.

Well I think kids like to play evil, black is cool, so I'm hoping they will go that way, I would have ... 10 years ago.

Looks like there is no evil as such, just more sunlight.  With that in mind I declare both sides evil so now Smilo can come join Elyos!

You are partly right there TL, they both raided against children and women! So they are atleast evenly evil, so don't join Asmodian Smilo! :P
