Anyone Playing this?

need some good Free transfers for league 2 side, i have only one decent find so far and that is Willy Topp.  Sign him at the start of the season and stick him up front on his own, he has scored 22 gls in 20 games, although i am still 18th in league 2 with Grimsby :(

any tips, hints ect....much appreciated

Dewey

Hey Sparko,

I've also bought it - playing Hull at the moment - currently 16th - only had 5 million to spend on transfers - I just set up searches and started clicking through hundreds of players to find players who I could afford and were decent.

I'm enjoying the game :) Good luck with Grimsby.

Sparko

tough assignment for you there :P

well my transfer funds currently stand at a massive Ã,£500 and my limit now for offering wages is Ã,£160 a week, so dont think i will be signing anyone soon :(

Still waiting to get it.

But when I do I will be playing it different this time around - I usually do lower league teams Barnet, Macclesfield, *cough* Vauxhall.

But in light of recent events I will be taking charge of Liverpool FC.

I'll show rafa what you can do with no money!!

LOL

Sparko

Yeah i thought about doing that but trouble is you would end up winning everything pretty much in the first season which is a bt boring plus if you dont win everything you end up getting sacked, might start a new game with say...Leeds or somthing..... i know what you mean though :g:

Thats what I like about FM you can play it to suit your managment style.

Me for example - I love the wheele dealing and spending money! Though obviously with Hull I'm having to look for cheap/free/out of contract players and my aim is just to stay up and hopefully build.

Unfortuantely though like real life, what tends to happen if you are even remotely succesful ie say Hull goto mid table - a larger club comes along puts a bid in for your best players and off they go. Very frustrating as effectively it means its quite difficult to build a winning team - you tend to hit a ceiling and the team never fully gels. To improve that situation you need the rep of your club to rise but thats down to result so its a bit chicken and egg - it can be done but its bloody hard.

Liverpool should be quite a challenge - a lot of debt - probably a max of 20 million in transfer funds (which isn't at all much for a club challenging for the title these days) and a lot of dead wood. Also more challenging now with spurs/man city/villa equalling or beating Liverpools transfers funds. Spurs spent Ã,£130 million in last 2 years (I've read somewhere).

Anyway let us know how you get on guys.

I'm also thinking of taking on a German league - with a sleeping giant -  ie big stadium, decent transfer funds but doing rubbish. Any ideas? Schalke?

I'm not so sure you would Sparko - I challenge you to try :) Would be great to see a blog of how you go about it in this thread - your transfers, tactics, etc.

I've recently started a game with Liverpool, Ã,£2.4million transfer funds to start with. Realism at its most annoying, one in, one out. My mates on Hull, 11th with 7 games to go. Tbf he has got Beckham and the overweight Ronaldo.

Alvaro - Man City - 5.75m
Aurelio - Spurs - 11.75m
Pennant - Spurs - 4.9m

Riera Villa - 1m
Keane - City - 2.2m (Poss 20.2m transfer)

Prem

Interesting times ahead.

By the looks of it the transfer funds in FM 2010 are a lot smaller than in 09!

11th for hull is awsome - I tried to get beckham but couldn't afford his stratospheric wages. Same with fatonald.
