How do I move my profile (perks etc.) from one PC to another?

[bought it on Steam sale, and looks quite good]

I don't know for sure but I do know this:

If you right-click one of your games (in the steam window), you can choose to backup a game or games.  So you could back it up to a network drive or pen drive or something and then restore to the other PC?

Perhaps someone else knows a better way or indeed a better way of explaining since I have never 'restored', just backed up?

I will have it installed on two machines, so only need to move my "identity".

Just the identity? Then you just need to install Steam and download again?

You can install steam on the second PC, then restore your games using the backup/restore facility.  So, rather than download the game to the second PC, you could restore from the backup made from the first PC?

I think someone like Kreg would know better though :)

I would think that game saves might be in %APPDATA% or something like that in your Documents folder.

Just worked out that when you do a backup of a game or games using Steam (right-click and choose 'Backup game files') the backup procedure also creates a steambackup.exe file in the backup set.

Double clicking this file will then bring up a small window where you can choose 'Restore..'

Don't forget to locate your game saves.

Hope this helps

What I mean by "identity" is the perks I have accumulated so far, for instance.
I don't care about saved games, as I am not playing the "solo" missions.

Do you (or anyone else reading this thread) own it? Fancy a game later tonight?

EDIT:
Turned out the answer is much simple: Perks and achievements are stored on the Steam servers, and so as long as you are logging in with the same Steam account, they will be stored wherever you play. [as got it on the KF forums]
