hi all, just picked up my new tv from my sister

basically its a LG - 50PG3000 - 50" plasma TV

got it for only Ã,£350, a right bargin as its only 6 months old. unfortunately the sound is pretty poor out of it and was hoping for some advice on adding a cinema system to beef up the sound

Was looking at this but am open to any recomendations ?

A big screen deserves a decent sound system, particularly on centre speaker and on bass to do it justice.  What you get depends on budget, but I have these and can thoroughly recommend them:

KEF 3005.2 SE

Yamaha DSP-AX863SE

A decent sound system makes on hell of a difference to your viewing experience so tbh I would push your budget to get as decent a sound system as you can.

not bad Delan. I think it comes down to what you will use the system for. If it's just dvd's that should be OK.

Personally I've never been a fan of micro-speakers like those. The only set I've seen deliver good sound is a Bose set of an old friend. That was more about the amp than the speakers I reckon.

It's got a sub which is good.

The only thing I would make sure that it does is to play normal telley as well. I'm assuming you're running a digi-box of some kind so..

i have a LG 50LG-50PC5D 50" screen,  it came as a package deal with a glass stand and LG surround sound system, found out after buying it that its actually a very good sound unit, the model is LG HT752TH, cost around the Ã,£300 maybe cheaper now, what hi fi gave them 9/10,  i am well pleased with the sound, crisp with good bass, and it sincs with the LG TV for 1 remote control for the 2 units.

TL.......  thats a seroius bit of kit,

A friend had a kef centre and fronts with a yamaha dsp and it sounded awesome!!
but unfortunately i can only afford to spend a few hundred, so its way out of my price range

tbh i only need something thats gonna improve the sound quality so everyday tv is watchable.

quite like the ones spud mentioned so will have a look for them

cheers guys :thumbsup2:
