Second Server

Can we fire up another server (on a separate port) so we can test ACE.

If we can make it work seamlessly we can then phase the first out? It gives us more options with missions and variables and will get us more 'external' players.

Any thoughts?

Download this to the server

and run it...

Then,

1. Start the 'Six Updater - GUI', this will open a web interface after a few seconds. If not browse to http://localhost:16333/
2. Click on 'Main'.
3. Ensure that the 'A.C.E. Mod (Vanilla)' profile is selected.
4. Click 'Execute'.

This will now install the selected mods. This may take some time, especially on the first run due to a large amount of data being downloaded.

Then I think you change the shortcut to add;
-mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_SM

My only concern is that I vaguely remember someone saying it shares folders. If it does do we know which ones? I'm still looking around but the above seems simple enough.

I haven't looked into this at all but will installing it affect both servers?

We have a single installation of Arma II on the server with sub directories for the two game servers.

Right, I'm installing ACE at home now, my understanding is that it installs in parallel and you have the option of enabling, so it's a startup modifier.

I'll keep you posted.......christ it's a big download.

I was connected to it after doing the install, so it was running :g:

EDIT: Just had a quick look and it is running and it was being used until 14:36 yesterday.  Heading out in 5 minutes but I'll restart it just now.

hmmm.....I can't see the bugger.

Anyone else tried and connected? It may be me and I don't want to make a load of work if it's my issue.
