Hm, What to get?

Right, loving my warrior as a prot warrior and saving up some frost to upgrade my gear to do ICC 10 / 25 with / without guild

Now i'm stuck with what i should upgrade first as im nearing 50 Frost and not sure what to dooo

I've run VoA since i could in hope to obtain T10 from there but had no luck yet but i can get the gloves / legs last seeing as it'll drop eventually anyway

While sitting in Dalaran i also saw that getting the 5th piece of T9 would help with more avoidance but i've always been told 5 / 5 of a tier is bad

Also should i get some of the blacksmithing gear - that would help but i wasn't sure if it would be worth it.

Blacksmithing & JC are generally regarded as best professions for tanking, go OTT with with extra sockets and big gems!

5/5 is generally regarded as bad not because it is actually bad but because other gear is better.  If you do not have the other gear then having 5/5 is good!

As for what to spend your badges on, I'd say don't.  Take a look at the non-set slots first: belt, back & trinket - that's where frost badges will benefit you most.  You can easily craft ICC legs & boots, so that's all the non-set slots dealt with.  Then get your T10 when you have more badges, the non-set items are worth more to you atm imo than the T10.

I'm wondering the very same things with zaul, my dk tank. He's jc and miner too, and i considered to switch him bs. But then i saw that they have improved the benefits from mining, and at the highest level, it gives you 60 stamina. Pretty much what you'd gain by gemming stamina in the 2 extra slots you get from jc, and since i already have an high level bs, i decided it really isn't worth the fuss for an alt.
About the gear, i think that the tanking gear crafted from the ToC patterns is still a solid choice with a good quality/price ratio. However, if you have some frost emblems you really don't know how to spend or you'll find some primal saronite at very good prices at ah, i guess in guild you will be able to find a bs who can craft you the tanking set (and if there is none, i'll buy the pattern myself and craft them with Tirkad).

My recommendations would be to prioritise your frost badges for the belt or the cloak.

Personally would go belt. The frost badge trinket isn't what you would describe brilliant for tanking, just lots of stamina and the 'on use' doesn't strike me as that useful. Amazingly The Black Heart is still a really good trinket to have. Would probably recomment the triumph badge trinket to go with this due to the armour bonus with the on use for dodge.

Remainder of the gear really just depends. Probably just start grinding ICC 10 on some of our upcoming scheduled alts run then pick and choose the biggest upgrades
