The race was intensive until the first chicane of the last lap :ranting2: :D. I took 60% of fuel as suggested by Sean and when some people thought that 55% should be enough I did not imagine of having any this kind of problems. Was my engine broken as it consumed that much fuel? How much did you use through the race?

Congrats to all who finished :D

Special thanks for Deetz, Lameduck and Jamin for making this at least somewhat memorable race..

Jamin

I couldn't get to grips with this combo, I've been slow in the first two sectors but fast in the last and unless I ran the diff almost unlocked, I overheated the tyres after lap two :ranting2:

I qualified eighth and came out of the first corner in ninth behind Joey, taking it easy on the tyres, I chased him for a few laps before catching and taking him to settle in behind Lameduck where until he pitted at halfway we lapped at similar times. Sean came out of the pits just behind me and on the back straight came up at speed to overtake, I was about to yeild when he backed off ??? (you should have gone as you lost third to Dee by only a couple of seconds) checking my tyres, they seemed to be worn enough to take some punishment and cool quickly so I stepped up the pace a little to try and leapfrog Lameduck in the pitstops.
I was now doing 46's nearly every lap which was enough to keep Sean behind me and make time on Lameduck as when I pitted with fingers crossed that they didn't change my tyres...they didn't :D I came out in front of Lameduck and a bonus Romus too, I kept it tidy to keep Romus behind until on the last lap he ran out of fuel and I finished a satisfying sixth.

Seany

Qualified 5th With Dee and Deetz behind and held that position for the first few laps. Dee had some really nice early pace and got passed after a couple of laps and continued his march up the field. I pulled away from Deetz by a tenth or two each lap, which was relieving :). Slider46 was my next target, he seemed to have a few bad laps and I got passed and back to 5th. Pol man Steve had an nasty off sending him tumbling down the field and that got me to fourth.  I had no chance to catch the leaders so I just tried to stay consistent to keep pulling away from Deetz.

After my 30 minute pit stop I came out behind Ben. I lost some pace here due my tyres starting to cool and my usual uselessness of racing consistently when there is a car ahead, I cant just ignore them and look at the road :).  This was interesting battle with the gap between myself and Ben shrinking and growing by the lap.  I may have been able to take you
on the back straight that time Ben, but that is one part of the track I don't feel comfortable passing on, not unless I am 100% sure I can get passed without relying on the other driver to lift off or brake earlier to let me through.  Also Dee was miles ahead at that time and didn't think we would be any where near him after his stop.  Deetzy was my only concern :D.

After Deetz and Dee had made their stops they where both rather close to myself and Ben, I got passed Ben and then he made his pit stop. In the last 5 minutes Dee was a couple of seconds up the road and Deetz was growing ever larger in my mirrors.  The last lap was a bit messy :) I got out of rhythm about half way round the lap and Deetz was right up me .... He gave me a bump thanks to my half defensive driving, half stumbling about to regain some momentum, sorry about that, my fault .  We got it back together though and he had another go into the last few corners with a great opportunity for a draft down the main straight...however, he caught what must have only been a couple of millimetres of grass on the exit of the last bend and went around like a spinning top!  Unlucky mate, I think you would have got passed down the straight, it would have been very close anyway.

Finished 4th.

It was an excellent race from start to finish, great turn out too.  Thanks to Dee, Deetz and Ben for some excellent racing.

Well done Manny, Ed and Dee.

Don't know what happened to your car Romus, I took 60% fuel, unfortunate that you ran out. I actually had 40% for race with a 20% top up in pitstop, no reason other than to give my pit crew something to do for 3 seconds  :)

I started 6th behind Seany and had a good charge up the field, passing Seany on lap 2, Slider46 on lap 4, and easyed on lap 11, Steve had an off and dropped to the back, so I was up to 2nd with Manny in my sights. :boxing:
He must have seen me comming and did some good laps to disappear out of sight.

All was well, until after my stop, I had just caught and passed an un-pitted Romus, only to run over the grass on the last but one corner, and fishtailed into the tires damaging the front slightly    I spent the last 10 minutes struggling with the car and watching Seany getting ever nearer my rear.  Easyed was doing good times and came out of his stop in front of me so I managed to cross the line in 3rd.  :yahoo:

Another fun race. Takes a lot of concentration to race the XFR, I was drained after that!
