I am not holding my breath after the circus of MW2.  It all depends on of they are doing dedicated servers, and as they reskinned cod 4 for world at war I have a feeling it going to be the same.

But I in regards to gl I think it should keep with blunt of he wishes to contiune.

Please accept my humble apologies if I have indeed offended anyone..

I think were about two months from launch and I wanted to know our position on the game.

There is no doubt in my mind that Blunt can handle both and if the council agrees we stick with one and close COD4. This is not my decision nor am I trying to influence the decision. All I'm trying to get us to do is to discuss the prospects for the game and whether or not it works..

I'm surprised as I thought we could host our own server and not pay to play..

I want us to embrace new games and be "ahead of the curve" not playing catchup.

Blunt has my undying support and if there's anything that I can do to assist, test, shaddup or otherwise please let me know.

The only reason I put in trial as I wasn't sure which forum to put it in.. Thanks TL for moving it..

Ninja, we're not playing catch up, I think you are as you're behind the curve here.  

What you may have missed was the 'announcement' from Activision that, as they have been advertising loudly to the PC gaming community, yes they will allow dedicated servers - thus caching in on the PC gaming community good will for months.  However their announcement (a week ago) also dropped the bombshell that the dedicated server is only to be released to gameservers.com.   This is ever so slightly different to what they have been publicising for months, which was a true dedicated server.  Thus a 32 slot server would be circa Ã,£20 per month and therefore something to consider before jumping in.  

Where we have a dedicated server we'll not hesitate to roll a game out where someone shows a modicum of interest, but due to Activision's changes to the dedicated server support (ie none) then it's down to Blunt to consider whether to move on or not from COD4.  

The game is out on 9th Nov 2010, so we're not behind the time here and have *plenty* of time to prepare.
