Painkillers=yes
Bed rest=no (in my experience)

I've suffered from a bad back for nearly 20 years, the last 8 have been the worst, and I can honestly say that keeping moving is your best bet.
Don't over do it though.
I realise that the pain can be acute and leave you scared to move, but as soon as you are able, get moving; not lifting or silly bending, just general moving about.
keep taking the pain killers....and on that subject...

Tramadol for the win
Tramadol works in a different way to "normal" pain killers eg. Ibuprofen or paracetamol. it releases serotonin and works on your brain in a similar way to any opiate. (and I am familiar with their effects:flirty:)
When I was on it, it initially changed my personality, I was aggressive, moody, and irritable. (I was incredibly rude to the prospective Tory candidate:ohmy::blush2:)
After I got used to it, it made me sweat profusely when under the slightest of stress, and made me paranoid.
but it did help with the pain.

If you get offered Tramadol, be aware that there is a price to pay for your pain relief.
I'd have to be at my wit's end to take it again. (but it does work)

I hope you feel better soon.:D

Muscular problem due to strain [heavy oil tank move],been suffering badly on and off since i was 27 when i over did the body building, resting the muscle helps me a great deal, currently using a genuine opiate in the form of dihydrocodeine 30mgs,only trouble is i use them and carry on working which i should not do!
Same probs when i first used this stuff being a grumpy shite, think im used to it now, if i had a pound for every person telling me how to treat my back problems id be rich.
Only good thing is its over 2 years since i had any back trouble and i thought i was over it with plenty of stretching and crunches keeping my abs strong to assist the back muscles, oh well will recover soon i hope, will look into tramadol though.

Have more sex, mark that up as another quid.

:roflmao: yeah, I know what you mean, however you did say "since Sunday" so I assumed a new injury.
Glad to hear it's muscular though, better than disk.

Now, if anyone has a cure for gout, I'm all ears:)
