EA have published their financials and according to them, the PC isn't dying as a gaming plaform, or even falling behind, it is in fact doing better as a market place than either of the major consoles!

Which begs the question as to why so many devs are treating the PC as the unwanted child? Piracy is more rife on the XBOX and DS than on the PC and with the higher cost of console games, this (allegedly) "costs" the industry more in lost revenue. Also dev kits for the PC cost a lot less (UDK is free) than those for the PS3 or XBOX, so again, the PC is a better option. EA are betting on the PC and while they may be a lot of things, EA are not stupid when it comes to making money.

Pop on over to Rock, Paper, Shotgun for the details.

I think some devs are moving away from PC's as its a tidy bit harder to create games for em, due to the big fragmentation in hardware. But thats just my thoughts
