Game Leader Meeting - BC2 Admin Input

Guys,

At each LAN we have a GL meeting and discuss not only the current game but also the future.

BF3 will be discussed and also the future of BC2 following BF3's release.

I'd like your thoughts on BF3 but also on the sustainability of BC2. Of course there may also be admin implications at the same time.

I assumed we'd drop BC2 once BF3 was out, i'd figure most of us would be getting it & the BC2 server would sit there just empty or with public on.

With all the hysteria and the mouth drooling video’s surrounding BF3, if the game play is as good as it looks, it will probably kill off BC2

BF3 (from the Alpha) is BF:BC2 with enough BF2 to make it credible. I think it is likely to absorb the majority of BF:BC2 players within the first quarter of its release.

Hi Guys,

Just a bit of feedback from the meeting:

- We have agreed to keep BC2 until endo of November to allow for a cross-over period
- We will canvass the community and ask which game they would prefer (or both) to keep going.
- Once that decision is made, we will let BC2 run it's course
- All BC2 admins will continue to hold their admin status on BF3
- We need to look into Admin Tools for BF3 and we have the option to invest / purchase ProCon if we feel that is the best way forward (ArithonUK - I'm contacting you separately about that)

Let me know if there were any unanswered questions.

The BF3 public beta is taking its toll on BC2...

The tumbleweed has been rollin' across our server! Friday was a very quiet four-player dMw-only affair.

I'm thinking that BC2's days are numbered - despite the faults in the BETA, it is a better game.

I'd put money on BF3 taking 70% of BC2's player base from day 1.

The next week will probably be "the last farewell" for BC2.
