Well I suppose you all already know, Libyan medic says Gaddafi died of two gunshot wounds, to the head and chest

Hopefully there will be peace now in Libya

Makes you wonder when Robert Mugabe reign will fall

Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

I dont think the poor Zambians will receive any outside help, not enough oil there.
I was amused to watch 5 experts from the BBC staff still saying that his death was not confirmed (3.05pm)
when 30 minutes earlier I had viewed his death on Al Jazeera.

They were all waiting for 'official' confirmation from the new Libyan government according to 5live.

im sorry but i lol'ed a bit when i saw the his last hiding place and the video of him screaming dont shoot dont shoot!
The man has tormented Lybia for 42 years and he ends up hiding in a sewer pipe..

I would have wished that he would stand trial for his crimes, but now hes gone, and Lybia can move on and rebuild

There is something inherently wrong in taking any kind of gratification in a man being set upon by other men in a frenzied feral state. I've no hesitation in saying he deserved no better, but to capture on camera and glorify it in open media is disgusting.

A very good summary on TalkSport of all places. The same media that screams about our children and GTA and how society is broken, publishes video and pictures in plain view for all to see with no censorship. Appalled isn't the word.

The same media that is appalled by militants in other countries showing hostages or dead soldiers/pilots is pumping out pictures of this sort of thing like there's no tomorrow. They've never even saw the fork that leads to the high road, let alone considered taking it. I can't remember the last time I saw good journalism that wasn't on Al Jazeera, the mainstream in this country seems to pump out biased opinions and one sided interviews.

When the UN stepped into Libya I don't remember a single politician being pressed hard about the oil situation, yet the public were asking these questions. Why Libya and not Sudan for instance. There's been genocide there for decades. Why not Burma where elections are never open and protesters and journalists get shot. I can't say a leader who takes control of a country in a coup and clings to office by military means deserves better, but I'm pretty disgusted that we jumped in so readily to help at the mere sniff of oil. America has shown the world time and time again that it doesn't ever end well, I don't know why we listen to them.

The money could be better spent ridding us of our oil dependencies rather than so we carry on polluting.
