well the title says it all really,

Since yesterday my laptop sometimes just freezes for a few seconds and then continues are normal.
Some other things are that my dvd player just opens by itself, and that sometimes me laptop really jams for a second, you really notice it when your sound is on and got something playing...you get that repeating thingie(if that makes sence).

It would be a HP Pavilion Dv7.

Let me know if some more info would be nice :)

thx in advance,

Arctic

heat problems maybe, try checking with speedfan

you say dvd player, is it the physical drive thats opens or the dvd player software that starts?

na its the actual dvd player that opens, sometimes it happens alot, sometimes it doesnt happen...like now ofcourse :P

Ninja edit: heat is, HD0 38C. Temp1, Core0 and Core1 are 55-70C.

T-Bag

Disable the DVD drive in device manager and see if the same thing happens (I never use my DVD drive so I can't picture it being too bad not using it for a day or too - but obviously if you have a disk check on games this might be a problem.). If it stops then it's the DVD drive, and if it doesn't then it's just a side-effect (or unrelated) to the actual cause.
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

55-70 while doing nothing? we have had a few Dv7 @ work, and they often fail due to a defect fan,,, might have happened to yours too
