Also ideas for map/mode/format etc.

Will we be restricted by Gameservers setup at all?

Pretty much available all over Christmas (bar Christmas eve, Christmas Day and Boxing day), The week starting the 19th maybe best, maybe a little early but we will all be in the Christmas spirit

Maps and game mode wise:
Crisis (s&d)
Firing Range (ctf)
Havana (dem)
Jungle (dem)
Launch (sab)

Maybe teams stay on the same side? dont think we can stop pubbies joining the server, unless we have someone on 'Pubbie watch' ?

We should password protect the server when the tournament is running. Shouldn't be a problem.

As for when, I am probably available at the same time Sparko mentioned, shouldn't be a problem getting away from family to play a little bit every now and then ;-)

Yeah to password this server takes a little more time than we thought, we found this out at the LAN, ought to get a date in and check we can password it.

Does it? thought a quick edit to the config file and a restart should do it no problem whatsoever?

I think the only way to pw it and have more control is to have unranked server, I don't know if it's possible to swap to unranked at this stage.

What would it take to set up our own server? Is it even possible to host our own? If not, where do we stand renting a unranked server for the tourney? 15$ for a 18slots server for one month? I'm just tossing out ideas here

We cant set up or host our own server we have had to rent one

Do we have a 'switch' to make it unranked? I think of its unranked we can password the server, but I think this also removes the ability to choose a class....

nope, we have to buy, or swap our contract, to make it unranked.
I believe unranked costs more too <_<

Unranked is 0.99USD pr slot, so its not much more, and it wouldn't be for a extended period anyway.

I just think that would be a better option than allowing pubies to join... That could go sideways quickly...

Can we reduce slots to suit our team sizes and then kick pubbies to allow members to join? When it's full then the server is ours to run?

Not that I can see.
I imagine we'd have to contact GS and get them to do it, and if we have to do that we may as well go unranked for the remainder of the contract (if we can)
