also the latest beta driver lowered fps by about 5/10% the new drivers run fairly smooth and no flashing triangles (not the artefacts but the odd flashing edges on shadows) but a bit slower, I have also managed to turn hyper threading back on since the patch  and the nasty stutter seems to have abated, tha game runs 45-70 fps now, all settings on ultra, 4xaa, 1920 1200, biggest hit for fps seems to be in tank when using turret with someone driving, my boys got the game also and runs it on a gts 250/q6600 @3.2ghz, 4gb 1066, its on medium most settings at 1680x1050 runs 30-45 fps and still looks stunning, scales well with older hardware and still looks nice.

First launch of day used to crash 100% of the time which also seems solved.

Keep patching, im sure they can squeeze some more performace from the engine

Odd DD, I noticed higher vram usage on the new maps but nothing more than 100mb or so, they shouldnt be too much of a drain compared to the old, do  you have an intel hyper threaded cpu?

If so try dissabling the hyper threading in the bios, when I first got the game I hadbad stuttering until i dissabled hyper threading.

I have it renabled now and the stuttering seems to have gone since the patch but everyones having different results.

Also try dissabling origin in game, this can be responsible for stutter, go to origin options and choose settings, then  "ingame" and untick enable origin in game

The giveaway for me that something was wrong came when I lowered all settings to low and still had the stuttering,  also try turning off v sync and tripple buffering, you can also force max frames to render ahead to 0 which may help, I have created a txt file in my bf3 folder called user.cfg and added the following lines:

RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0

Good luck

With my Rig i should be able to play the game on high setting ( I've currently got it on low as I always do this with playing games)

Hyper threading is already turned off in bios, I've got 8gb of ram so cant imagine it being that, I'll untick orgin when in game so thats cool, do i put the txt file anywhere in the bf3 folder mate?
