TBH I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I think Logik is in the minority with his views, but he is trying to get a few more people on-line for ARMA night which in the end has to be commended. =)

I dont know how to respsone cause whatever I write I come out sounding like hitler on a none stop record.

I still believe going backwards to arma 2 wont help us out of this situation we are in and the moment, let alone a how addon will work based on the last attempt .  And all I can see is that he wants to play Insrugenecy which is not very popular with our players.

Also the amount of work that we have to do just make it work.

To get more people playing is to be on Sunday and be really actively working with the public, but due to eveything we have been over worked our admins out and me away for almost 3  weeks due to rl.

Anyways final call for points before I put the boot in:)

Haven't looked at his moan in depth, but I'd open an Arma2 server and tell him to get on with it :)

Oh, and pardon me for butting into Arma, but you asked for points :P

Your always welcome blunt.  I can see that point but I think it is a, waste of resources and a time and effort but will think on it more.

Its more to support and for newer members another game they have to buy another game to play with dMw regulars. We ARE attracting new people to the game and this will somewhat complicate things. From what I have seen of ARMA2 its more buggy than OA,  but there is more content but its been around for longer. As you say, its a step backwards in most respects. If there is a reason to go to ARMA2, such as the servers being more reliable than OA then this is something to consider but it would have to be something pretty useful to all members to warrant the effort.

If Logik and Sulky (the only people making a fuss) want to play on ARMA2 with mods that is fine, but as you say Toby for dMw to offer and support this it will be a lot of effort. As for the Mods, these are always a nightmare to get working properly and it will be an ARMA PC clinic as everyone has issues with getting the mods to run on their machines.

Don't worry too much about it Toby.

Right, as Rick Waller used to say at McDonalds, it's time for me to chip in.

We, as a community, but more as a group of admins on the Arma server need to make a decision. I don't know how many people are playing, but I'm guessing not many. There are numerous mods available, ACE or Project Reality comes to mind that do add a additional dimension to the game. The issue comes in making sure everyone can make it work.

I would suggest that there should be 2 servers, one modded and one vanilla. In much the same way that A2 was over taken by OA, I think you'll find OA overtaken by a modded version.

What you need to do is look at what is available to PR and ACE servers, see if Isla Duala etc offer any increased variance without causing unneccessary headaches. Then make a proposal to the server gods having proved the install yourselves and tested on some internet servers. Then market and drive the game as appropriate. The alternative is leave it vanilla and remain a drop in game.

I would suggest the former, it may draw more people.

And obviously I won't post that publicly.

Good point Sir. However right now we have an issue with both Arma servers crashing on a fairly regular basis. I would hold off until we get that particular issue sorted.
