Things are getting nice and busy on our Star Wars forums and as Blue Group get going I'm sure they will get even busier. With that in mind (and I've mentioned this in another thread) I wonder if we might use the moderation feature to help us manage stickies etc. I don't have moderators as such on the forums but some members who admin games etc can moderate in specific forums and it proves quite useful.

SWTOR Game Admins should already have moderator privileges in the SWTOR forums (I'll check when I get home) but I think Op Leaders should also be able to moderate as well. Not in the sense that they police the forum  but that they can sticky their Op rosters and edit their progression threads.

I also think it would be sensible for the progression threads to go in the public area of the SWTOR forum so the rest of our community can see how we're progressing. While I know the plan is to use private areas to keep the 'What’s New' forum feature free of all the game specific stuff we should be pimping our progress to the community.

Finally we seem to have a lot of Sticky posts in some forums. The trouble is they are all quite useful. But they do mean that the new stuff sits half way down the page. Are there any stickies that we no longer need to keep current?

Just some thoughts, feel free to shoot me down in flames as appropriate :)

Yeah I think this is a good idea I think we should lay down some rules like No deleteling post you role is x y z in regards to Moding for Op Leaders, Happy for DC to do eveything :)  Makes thier lives easier

I agree we should be pimping ourselves out there :) Lets start.

We need to consolidate a lot of the information in to one place and then clear up the forums.  Anyone fancy helping me tackle this?

I'd probably be best placed to do this as I have the $ki11z but I'd need to chat through what gets merged with what etc.

Yep, I've also added us all to the moderators group for the Star Wars forums and also the four Op Leaders. I've posted accordingly. I'm sure the guys will play fair with the new tools but as mentioned we don't have moderators on the forums through choice as we have Game leaders who look after policing their areas. So I've explained that we shouldn't be using these tools to police the forum, just manage the information. It's much easier to use moderator tools than individual permissions,  so for example one Op Leader could post a raid progress notice and another Op Leader could then update that post at a later date.
