So promised to post a general cfg that i built mine from (i stole bits of it elsewhere.

feel free to copy whatever, just remember to make your cfg file read only after edition, else CS:GO resets certain values acording to server cfg's..
and adjust acording to your preferences.

For some newer members to CS: You run faster with a knife/grenade or pistol out. Also, watch your radar, this thing helps alot.

I was getting tremendous lag last night and my graphics card was whining noisily so I did the following in the console, hopefully will help some of you younger newbies.

fps_max 55
Changed it down from 100+ and the graphics card quitened right down and there was no percievable difference to performance.

cl_updaterate 45
using net_graph 2 I had a look at what was being sent, it was amxing at abuot 30, so I set it lower to 45 (default 60+)
cl_cmdrate 45
Same as a above.

It may be pure fluke, but the lag evened out, things ran more smoothly and according to the graphing everything was still within tolerance.

A tip that I learned from teamplay during CS:S, is (using team comms/TS) if you spot an enemy on the radar or engaged with an enemy who is shooting at you - it is very useful to say "minimap!" or "radar", this lets people see the red dot of where the enemy is, sometimes much faster than describing the location if you are in a bit of a panic/hurry.

setting cl_updaterate & cl_cmdrate to 45 shouldnt be doing anything.. as the tick rate is actually controlled server wise..
My settings @ 128 further up is only set at 128 as some servers support it, so by setting it to the max you will always take the most advantage of the connection.
Server usually either run 64 (default afaik) or 128.. some have it set to odd values in between.

Fps_max 50 definitely takes a load of the gpu and has no impact on performance.

have a buyscript...works for me. Instructions in it, save it as buyscript.cfg

It's not flash, it does the job.
