Guys,

The server is empty most nights now. I wanted your feedback as to whether or not we should renew the rental when it comes due.

On the horizon we have BF3 Armoured Kill. Also, summer's over and kids are back in school. Do we think that either of those events are going to fill the server again? The problem is publics. Unless we play, they won't.

What about BC2? I played for an hour or so late last night and while the servers out there are reduced, there's plenty of people playing it. Do we close the BF3 server and run BC2 for a couple of months to see how it goes?

At what point should we ask the community for their opinion?

Out of the 2 games I still prefer BC2 I think, there's just something with BF3 that doesn't sit right with me - it's a better game than I originally thought it was, but I still think BC2 to be the better game.

So if we dropped 1 of the 2 servers I'd go with keeping BC2 running, with there being reduced servers would that help us to keep it full on a regular basis?

Well i think everyone knows where i stand and if we only have one BF title i think it should be BC2.

I may get Armoured Kill depending on how good it is but the way BF3 seems to be at the moment is it will gat played for a few weeks and then we'll have a dead server again.

When we do get on BF3 we rarely get any numbers (as happened last Friday) whereas with BC2 we can normally get a full server going from just 1 or 2 players seeding.  I have even started seeing some regular publics on!

I do like having a BF3 server when we do play but can we really justify the cost for what seems to be 1 night a week at best?  I don't think so...

Reading in the forum we seem to have lost Friday nights to CS, what's the score there Ninja?

Most evenings, BF3 consists of me joining Cheese_Puff and TwoBad for a lonely game. Where did our platoon go? Half of those people no longer show and the other half I've never heard of!!!

Ce La Vie.

BFBC2 server seems more popular AND easier to fill. I will continue to play BF3, but it's the last BF title I will buy. Sad, but the result of EA's incessant nickel-and-diming and DICE's nerfing-for-whiners that have made the game a fractured patch-fest, with too many flaws to forgive.

So, BadWillHunting will be please to join the BFBC2 server.

How about a "save the server" message on the BF3 server itself!! "Go to battlefieldthree.co.uk to vote..." If nobody votes, we have our answer....

I can put a poll on there easily enough.

Hi Folks,

Just to bring you up to speed, at the LAN we had a Game Leader meeting and we discussed the future for BF3.

The plan is that we let the subscription run out at the end of December. Unless there's a significant uptake in the next month or so and it sustains, I think we should call it a day.

With respect to BC2, while we can get it going and it's busy, how many Community members are playing it on a regular basis? Can we justify paying for a server that only a few dMw play?

I've agreed that one of BF3's swan songs will be to hold an Xmas tourney in December. I'd appreciate your thoughts and ideas on that.

Also, what are your thoughts on:

1. Asking the community if they would like to see us switch the server to CQC.

2. If we agree that the BF3 server has run it's course, in it's place would you guys support a "server invasion" on Friday nights. This is where we would decend on-mass to a server and play for the night. We can still be on TS3 so outside of the admin and map rotation, it wouldn't be significantly different. I was thinking we could even rotate servers based on individual choice "tonight it's TwoBad's call and we're off to XYZ server!!". We could also contact clans directly and build up relations for future events but let them know that we will be joining their server and provide our details etc.

Thanks for your efforts and support in getting the server going over the last year. It was difficult and fun at the same time. My proposal isn't to stop playing BF3 altogether (I quite like the game) but if only a few of us in the Community play it, there's little point in paying for it.
