I'm applying for a Raiding position.
Tell us a bit about yourself! Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do you do?
My name is Jim, I'm 35 years old
I'm currently Unemployed due to spinal damage which is currently being sorted.
Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
I quite enjoy a challenge, I just have to keep working things out until they're beaten.
I do have issues letting go.
How long have you been playing computer games and what kind?
I have played computer games for a very long time, going on 20 years.
In the past, puzzle & platform games, going on to Command & Conquer, Total Annihilation & its sucessor Supreme Commander, Starcraft.
a couple of years ago I was also playing Quake & Unreal.
There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
I applied because there are people that I Know here, people I know for sure who can play, and who know me.
What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?
Arc Angels ~vanilla~ (met sharpfang there), left during vanilla, the guild really sputtered out.
Affinity ~vanilla~ I was there for a whole two weeks as the AQ gates were still being openned, they server moved, I didn't
FurionS ~vanilla~ the first guild I raided with, cleared MC, Killed Onyxia, wiped on Razorgore horribly, that guild imploded shortly before Burning Crusade due to politics & internal divisions over what zone should be raided, some wanted to keep spamming Mc, others wanted BWL.

Equanimity ~Burning Crusade to Present~ I joined that in mid Burning Crusade, killed everything from Karazhan to 6/8 Heroic Dragon Soul.
Sadly the guild itself has been dying a very slow painful death due to attrition.
It really is time I moved on.
Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them?
Sharpfang (known since vanilla) done off and on groups for ages, including the underlevelled dungeons at the beginning of Wrath(i know you remember those sharp), Drak'tharon Keep & Gundrak at 71, and being too low for the loot, the only reason stonecore couldn't be done is that nobody could get there.
Guru & Puja, both former Equanimity, we have been in raids right as far back as Burning Crusade.
Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them?
From what I understand, its reasonable & plain common sense.
What do you look for in a guild?
I look for a group of people who are sociable, have a sense of humour, and know how to play and keep drama to a minimum.
Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?
I have a LOT of alt characters, I opted to have Niel (puja) on realid as one point of contact to make it easier.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?
As a direct thought, a group of people who have no problems with wiping and making progress.
What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you?
My immediate plans are to get the current Daily overload under control and finish weeding out the truely bad items on my rogue.
Long term, i'd like to get back in to regular raiding again,
Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
Hard to say with any precision as it is a lot of small woes.
Daily Quests ~ in my opinion there are far too many for tiny reputation gains, that is by far my biggest gripe.
A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
I normally let it slide, if it becomes serious enough then it would warrent letting an officer know in a personal message and place the offender on a time-out ignore as I dislike drama.
I had exactly that kind of issue with a Death Knight, character name Zwiebel, in Equanimity, which was met with the above action.
Cake or Pie?
Definitely Pie, cakes are a little too sweet for my tastes.

Which evenings of the week are you available to raid?
My evenings are completely clear, So i can make any days of the week.
Can you and will you speak actively with other guild members on Teamspeak and in guild chat?
I have no problems in that reguard, the few folks who know me already in guild know I tend to say what I see.
Do you have a stable internet connection?
My internet connection is very stable, it is rare I find myself disconnected.
What sort of frame rates do you get when raiding?
I capped my framerate to my screen refresh, but it stays at about 60fps.
What kind of raiding experience do you have?
I have killed everything from Ragnaros to Deathwing, five years or so in the same guild progressing or trying to for quite some time.
If you are a cross-server applicant, name someone from your home server that can vouch for you.

It is showing combat, though I do on the fly swap out the solo/situational shuriken toss for anticipation as lost combo points costs damage.
Why did you decide to play this class?
Wow, err this is dating right back from my observations of a rogue duelling in vanilla, and after finding a green dagger (i know seems pathetic)
I rolled a rogue and didn't really look back.
even with all the class problems since, at this point the rogue is the one where I could play off instinct as opposed to wracking my brains on what to do next.
What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
Straight up damage, single target and multiple, and keep myself alive so the heal team doesn't have to.
Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)
Currently I play combat, I'm more used to that spec than the others, my earlier play was as Assassination.
I have had a lot of issues with rupture refreshing and tick outs between finishers causing me to lose slice and dice, or rupture, or worse both, due to commonly getting "a more powerful spell is in effect" errors.
Also due to backstab requiring to be behind the target, and finding myself hitting things from in front (Sinestra, Ultraxion) damage would bottom out.
In the end I simply kept combat, with reasonable cleave and not getting punished so harshly for unavoidable position changes, it to me made the most
progressional sense.

Gloves are of suspect quality, a couple at ilevel450.
Currently doing Raid Finder to remedy the situation.
