Recovering windows.old?

[Snokio]

As some of the apps were not loading in windows 8, I did a refresh, however, it has removed all my installs (steam/origin etc), I have found them in the windows.old folder which contains all the recent files, any idea how to retrieve them? (No restore point available)

if its steam, then copy the folder out, and just reinstall steam in the new location, all your games should be back
