Since an unfortunate night gaming when a pint of beer got spilt all over my keyboard and in turn making most of the keys not work, I have been using a lone bog standard Microsoft one which although does the job is not that nice to use. What with Christmas being in 4 weeks time and people asking what I would like for a present or gift to myself the obvious answer is a new board.

The issue is I really am not sure is a good one or recommended one and was wondering what others are currently using, What is out at the moment and worth getting and what is in the pipeline due for release.

Budget is around £100 although this could stretch higher should something be irresistible.

I use the Steelseries Merc stealth, but any one of these looks pretty cool

^That one.  I have it, it's sturdy, very easy to clean(no sunken keys), and the palm rest feels good.

It's not a full mechanical, however in my opinion it's not such a negative as the non-mechanical keys don't need to be mechanical anyhow.  Also, the G keys are on a lower level (no longer pressing a G key instead of Esc)

One final thing, ever had a keyboard with crappy plastic wrist attachment which snaps easily leaving the palm rest useless?  This kb fixes that issue, just remember to screw in the thumb screws on the sides of the rest.

Gorion's sexy. No, let me rephrase that..... Gorion's choice is sexy {phew}.

Quite a few of us have Logitech G15 keyboards (the latest incarnation is the G19).

I'm flattered, really.

As for the kb, I went from blue G15 to the K90 (has the same amount of G keys as the original.  The G15 re-hashes from logitech have reduced amounts).  The only thing I miss from my old kb is the "turntable" like volume adjuster and the lcd screen.  One can always get one of these.

Any cool wireless varieties?

Gorion

Not that I know of; why would you use wireless for gaming anyhow?

Wireless keyboards are fine, atleast the bluetooth one.

Only advise i have is, go to one the big retailers near you, and test how they feel, it really differs what people like.
Only thing i really find crucial is backlit keys :)

I'm just gonna second the vote for the Corsair K90.  I love mine, and Corsair are a fantastic company to buy from for their customer service. I have the K90, M60, and Vengeance 2000 headset and love all of them.
