Sad news that LucasArts is no more.

They've laid off the staff and only plan to contract out any future Star Wars titled games.

MCV has the details..

No more "Sam and Max" or "Star Wars:BattleFront" or *sob* "X-Wing"....

But we sacked them all anyway! Either the developers are talented enough to make future games for Disney or they're not. It seems they're not. I guess it's OK, but sad for employees, for Disney to make these changes. The external developers that will make the new stuff under licence from Disney will obviously be pleased and richer and may well take on new staff. In recent years Lucas Arts have only been making Star Wars and Indiana Jones stuff. I think the days of Grim Fandango, Monkey island and Sam and Max are long gone anyway

Still it's sad to see a great name go away like this...

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.
