So, I am planning to preorder BF4. But I don't get this with expansion packs.

IF I buy the Battlefield 4 and the Battlefield 4 Premium... do I really need the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe???

I mean, what do I actually miss out on if I don't buy the digital deluxe? If I get all the maps, I am happy... I don't need the superduper extra guns or whatnot.

EA is making it difficult to see what the differences really are... or maybe I am just too dumb?

Digital deluxe just includes China Rising with the vanilla game.
Since the Premium season pass isn't out yet, they are offering this. But yes, if you get premium ontop of digital deluxe, it means you are purchasing China Rising DLC twice.

Not entirely true. If you pre-order bf3 on origin you'll get China Rising for both editions.

Difference between digital deluxe or standard are:
For digital deluxe you'll get access to beta, 3 golden battlepacks (instead of one for standard edition) and a vehicle shortcut bundle (instead of ground vehicle shortcut bundle for standard edition).

For me it's not worth buying digital deluxe version because I allready got access to beta. And the vehicle unlocks will be unlocked eventually I guess.

I don't know exactly what those golden battlepacks mean.

I know this is a bit off topic but are we saying we would have to actually pay for being in a beta? That sounds about the most ridiculous idea ever. I'm paying to help bug test someone elses software???? Or have I (as usual) got the whole thing completely wrong?

As a comparison for playing the Arma 3 alpha and beta I get money of the price of the game paying only  19.99 instead of  the full price of 29.99

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

DuVeL

Premium members of BF3 Premium also get in to the Beta.
Survivor of LAN V, VI, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIV, XVI, XVIII, XX, XXIV, XXX, XXXII, XXXIV and XXXVI so far...

What Bohemia Interactive did with Arma 3 is very nice of course. But it's also the first time I heard a developer did it like this.
It's more a question of demand, a lot of people want to play the beta of bf4. So why not make it an incentive? I understand why DICE does it like this but that doesn't make it right.
Using a Beta as a marketing instrument essentially is wrong (in my opinion), but they get away with it because a lot of people want to have beta access.

Just bought the game via g2a.com

Will not get the key until the release date (no beta access included), but I can live with that. Price was 35 euros. Just the standard edition - the premium pack I will get later, or when it is available on some site or other.

If you have premium (and you have) you'll get beta access anyway.

Yeah, but I still need a key, right? And that I don't get until release date.

The beta should just appear in your Origin, just set it to show all games, not just installed ones. Then, once it is released, you can activate and download it there, no key needed as its tied to your account already.
