Which weapon should I choose?

I've got 11,000 UEC on my account and I'm looking to spend it on a hard hitting gun to put on my Super Hornet to allow me to finish fights before they really begin. I'm currently stuck between buying the "APOCALYPSE ARMS MASS DRIVERS - STRIFE MASS DRIVER" or the "N-SERIES NEUTRON CANNON - NN-13 NEUTRON GUN". Which one do you think I should choose?
From what I've seen the Neutron gun is excellent if you hit the target, but hitting it can be difficult however the Strife mass driver is also very good but drains a huge amount of energy meaning that my shields would be low (which isn't great during a dogfight).

Thanks for any suggestions you post!

This is only for 1.3, and I know that there has been a lot of balance changes made since, but this spreadsheet is probably a good place to start:

I won't be back home until the 15th but would love to know how you get on with your loadout Dex. The SH is really my only combat ship and has been my go to ship so far... But I've never really had a decent loadout and stayed with the basic setup.

Adding to this do we have any AC training/practice nights planned if so add my name to the list? Would like to try and test a few weapons.

We have been planning on doing just this for some time now, but server stability through patch 1.3, then 2.0 and now 2.1 has been a major issue, along with the party system not really being fit for purpose right now.

Once stability has been addressed (2.1 is looking good on that score) and the ability to team up has been made reliable (maybe 2.2?) then I will certainly be on every week trying things out.

Couldn't we try to just meet up in free flight mode just to try a few things out?

Even with the servers not being in stunning shape I'd be happy to meet up w/ someone in a session just to exchange tips and tricks.

I've used a little REC to test out 2 Strife Mass Drivers on my hornet and they seem to be pretty good. The way they work is that they are pretty bad against enemies that have their shields up, however if you can get their shields down and then actually hit their hull it will nearly always one shot them by doing around 900 damage.
The only problem I have w/ the Strife Mass Drivers is that they're pretty difficult to hit targets with and they use up so much energy. Each shot will nearly completely remove my shields.
I'll test out the neutron guns in a bit, I'll message you then!

We did try a couple of times and couldn't get more than two of us in a single game.  If a third attempted to get in, they either couldn't or if they did, they had no control of their ship.  Pretty much a huge waste of time at that point unfortunately.

Hopefully 2.1 should go live later this week, so we'll have another go then.

I'm not back until next week anyway but will jump on then and happy to try a few things out with you Dex. Thanks for the updates!
