BF4 joining on a friend

BF4, joining on a friend:
Sometimes when you join a friend directly by clicking on his name and he is in a full squad, he is out his previous squad.
Another thing that automatically happens is that he is the SquadLeader and the Squad is set to private.
This also happens on our server so if you're wondering why no one else is joining, that's the reason. :flirty:

Any way of checking this before joining on a player? And for us noobs, can't private squads be set to open?

I usually ask on TeamSpeak. If they are not on, I join and if I see it's just a squad with him and me then I will let them know that he/she can go back to their former squad if they want to (Ingame voice: Left Alt).

And yes, they can be reset. Press "Esc", TeamSetup, select your Squad, and if it's set to Private set it open to all.

So this was fixed in an update and people didn't think off posting it on the forums.
You can now (probably a while ago also) set your config to let not people join on you when you're in a full squad.
Check your in game config for it.

As far as I know, that option has always been in the settings. At least it was there the first time I went looking for it.
