Steam outage and massive false update

Steam went down for a few hours this evening and when it came back up there was a massive update on the go.

If you restart steam the update has gone and you are able to play.

Unless the 2.6gb update finished before you reset, in which case it then needs to download a 3.1gb to fix it again.
