Thinking about getting one to replace my on-board sound from my MSI Z87-G45 Realtek chip.
I also use a Logitech G930 USB wireless headset, but it's getting a tad unreliable atm. And the internal non replaceable battery is dying.

Anyone have this card or recommend something in a similar price range that's not Creative? Got burned by craptastic creative drivers many years ago when Audigy was the rage.
Going to pair it up with a Sennheiser G4MER ZERO headset.

Good to know!

There were reports of games like BF3 not liking it (now fixed ofc) but if people here use one, then it's good enough for me :)

So I got this card for Christmas ..... and I'm sending it back.

Sound drops when connected headphones to ROG console (could be hardware failure).
However, the virtual surround offered on the card is either XEAR or Dobly HEEv4 virtual surround. Both upmix 2.0 stereo to 7.1 (but in different ways). In a nutshell it sounds awful compared to the G930 I'm coming from.
I played around with the Razer Surround solution, but that wasn't all that great. Better than XEAR/DHEEv4 but not as good as Dolby Headphone.
Lastly, I couldn't get it to work in Linux even though the latest kernel claims at least stereo support. No dice.

So I've gone the total audiophile route and ordered an ASUS STX2 card instead, which is about £50 more.
And this card is better supported in Linux according to reports - ie all channels working.
