Hi Gents,

It's clear that apart from a few of us (me even less the last few weeks admittedly) Elite is really slowing down in it's popularity in dMw.

Why is that?

Arithon, you attend more Elite events than anyone in dMw, what's the feeling amongs the Elite wider community? Is there unrest and general exhaustion of interest?

Is there anything we can do to get things moving again before another major update comes along to make things more interesting (hopefully!).

I'm happy with you guys promoting events on Tuesday's which was our agreed day for playing. Last week, apart from the die hard Arithon and Ranaulf, then Gorion, nobody really appeared interested in mining.

Looking for suggestions.

Cheers,

Albert

I'll chip in with my 2 cents, I have hardly played in 3 months, nothing to do with Elite, I just have not had the time due to work.

Elite as multi-player can be daunting and a grind without help and advice, but a number of the players in the "Albert" group have never come on TS at all, so I have no idea how they got on, or why they don't play.

I think an agreed day and time window to play would help. I'm in-game pretty much most evenings.

LaveCon last weekend was an experience. The Frontier Q&A was good because people got honest and frank responses to all questions asked - even the sticky ones.

The consensus from most players was that Elite is going in the right direction, just slower than they'd like. Pretty much everyone left on a high after the Q&A.

One detail not yet for public consumption, was that the request for information on elite community groups by Frontier recently (I put dMw forward) was for integration into the game. This will all be announced at GamesCon early next month, but reading between the lines, it could mean dMw would be able to become an in-game faction.

The game itself is growing, from last week to this, the peak Steam numbers jumped from 9,000 to 11,000 so the player-base is steadily rising. I'm doing whatever I can to promoted dMw in Elite circles. Let's see if we cannot get the new guys on board for Tuesday nights and drag back a few others.

Yes we saw a few new forum members come along as a result of your name dropping on pcgamer! I think it would be really nice to see our community in a game but it still needs a boost.

So Tuesday's were the day we agreed on playing as a group but maybe that isn't the best day? Or maybe weather has something to do with the lack of players online?

I personally feel I've done my share of grinding for a bit and have been testing our Naval Action which admittedly is like Elite on water without private groups. I need to logon and do a bit of exploring or something to re-ignite the enthusiasm but the weather doesn't help. Headphones and cables are uncomfortable in this heat.
