Just to be a contrary *******, I never base my game purchases on a single review or site because I don't trust anyone that much to make an informed decision from such limited data and the reviewer's unwritten biases (because no matter how much some sites like the claim, every single reviewer is biased in some way that can colour the review). I went by multiple sites and a friends comments on it and found the game for about £28 and I must say I've enjoyed it so far. Is it the best game ever? No. It is, however, a competently made 3rd person open world game. Car combat is suitable visceral as is the on-foot combat. Voice acting is decent enough, locations are varied with some lovely touches. The graphics veer between good and spectacular in certain places.

My question to Mr Smilo is why on Earth would you even contemplate purchasing, at full price, a movie inspired game after that Aliens title you hated not so long ago?

Mad Max is also a horrible franchise, film mediocre, the original one I mean, latest one, could be any number of recent effects oriented tosh.

Do yourself a favour and buy games that cost under a fiver a year after release. My Xmas pressie will be The Witcher 3. Even good ones are still not worth their initial asking price.

I enjoyed the first MM. Went seriously downhill in later incarnations but the original wasn't bad imo

Smilo didn't like Alien Intervention?

How can that be? It was great fun, especially watching someone else try to do survival!

I haven't played a game yet that hasn't been FPS, no kill=no thrill for me

I have no idea what dear Albert is talking about :D Alien Isolation is a leviathan amongst games, not just movie tie-ins. It's the finest game I've played at least five times right the way through in a very long time.
Mad Max (the un-dubbed original) is a classic and created a whole genre of post apocalyptic movies and games. The latest Mad Max Fury Road with the excellent Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron is an outstanding film and seriously should be on everyone's much watch list. It got 97% on Rotten Tomatoes !!!

I did sort if hope the game might do the film justice. Sadly I was being naive and as the quoted review and just about every other one I have read confirms, it's dross.

You know the Alien game I mean [emoji12] I think Star Citizen named their FPS module after it as it was so good. I never got the original movie, too young to understand at the time and never went back, so that parts just personal opinion but I should watch it again.
