As per the title, patch g is now up on the PTU.

Hopefully this will address the inability to load into Crusader and the constant CTDs.

I guess time will tell! :)

EDIT: CIG have a Discord server for those who are testing this patch.  The server invite is: https://discord.gg/0dOJaNbubQie6CZN

Well I can at least get into the game at last!

For those of you planning on giving it a try, I would offer one tip: do NOT use instance B49 - you won't get in and you'll end up with a big blue translucent window in the middle of your screen for the rest of your session!   I recommend using the new 'Back' button to return to the main menu and then select 'Universe' again, which will generate a new instance reference.  I would recommend you do this half a dozen times to get an instance reference that few others have got, and that should see you able to get into the game.

The patch is still extremely buggy and my major issue is with frame rates.  I start with 60fps, but it soon drops to 40, then 30-something, then settles around 26fps, which is appalling to try and play with.

The ship controls appear to have changed as well, so I found myself with my ship almost completely out of my control as I must have activated some random mode causing the ship to behave erratically.

When you exit QT your ship will be set to max speed, regardless of your throttle setting, and I found I had to pump the throttle to max and then back to zero to regain control - but not after crashing spectacularly into the station! :)

Anyway, I managed to stay in the game for about half an hour without crashing, so it is at least now able to be tested properly, but I'm off to bed now and will pick it up again tomorrow.

Have fun!
