I don't suppose anyone has a Phoenix upgrade in their "Buybacks" available ?

Title says it all really, i missed the boat here, still looking to finalise my lineup, been trying to find one of these on the grey-market but to no avail, so thought i would ask here if any of you good folk bought a Constellation Pheonix upgrade but then melted it and now have it sat in your "Buyback" section of your hangar ?

If so and you'd be interested in parting with it give me a shout :D

Cheers

You can't buy back upgrades, only the base ship, so you're out of luck there I'm afraid.

Not only that, but rare ships are not unmeltable either, so if someone did melt a Phoenix, they won't be able to unmelt it again.

AndyBee

Really ? I thought you could if they hadn't been applied ? I have "Limited" Freelancer MIS upgrade sat in my Buybacks that I never used, assumed it worked the same for all ? I know if I would have applied it to a Lancer then melted the whole thing the upgrade would be lost... I've seen people (at the minute on Reddit actually) offering an Idris for sale that is openly a buyback, advertised and screenshot as such, seems weird CIG will allow that but not other limited stuff ?

Ahh well, never mind then, cheers anyway !

Just noticed 2 X Constallation Pheonix "Buybacks" listed on Reddit too, I think maybe your info isn't right ? If I could afford a full ship or the guy took RSI credit I'd snap one up....

Sorry, my mistake, I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant an upgraded ship. You can't buy back upgraded ships!

i haven't melted an unapplied upgrade, so I wouldn't know, sorry.

My comment snout not being able to unmelt 'rare' ships was based on a comment that Ben made about the unmelt system.  Either I misunderstood him (maybe I should simply stop offering advice!) or someone changed how the unmelt works.

AndyBee

Haha, no you're dead right with the losing upgrades if applied then melted theory !

But from the looks of what's for sale on grey market Reddit as Buybacks it does seem like bens comments aren't entirely accurate, only things I can't buyback in my hangar are packages with physical items, Rear Afmiral etc...

And no please don't stop with the advice ! But the search shall continue ...

The Phoenix is the only upgrade that I have so far applied to my ships, as I am 100% convinced that I will never ever get rid of it.  So, sorry from me, but nothing avaible from me!

Thanks anyway !

It is seeming rather tricky to find one.... i want my "big" starter ship to be versatile, have some kind of modularity, to be able to act as a hub for gathering friends, but also be useful for Org' ops when required, if i can't find a Pheonix upgrade then i have my Retaliator to buyback, but i'd like to see how the modules play out there really, for a big ship it's very cramped at the minute, maybe the living module would fix that depending how it's implemented, but then the Carrack may just be a better all around bet, huge, modular, crew quarters, snub ship, rover.... decisions decisions..

As a rule of thumb over the last year, ships, including the ability to CCU to those ships, generally go back on sale when they are hangar ready don't they ?
