bought the game.  I need help, what next?

First thing you need to do is get access to the server which is done by going to the ark forum and posting your steam64 name which should be a bunch of numbers into the join us on ark forum ( should be one of the first ones you see). Once you are in welcome to ark, she is a cruel mistress. When you get in you want to either spawn in he south or at West Point 3 at this point we are near by and should be able to help you.

When you get in and have make your character and spawn you then want to start to get basic resources so go punch a tree for wood and thatch and then grabs some stones off the beach. Once you got some then make a pick axe and torch you should level up by then, when you do get the hatchet engram and maybe some cloth clothes and this should give you some protection and exp from making these. Then it's up to you have you play this either one of us can help you by picking you up and bringing you to the keep or stay on your own and learn the game yourself. If you come to the keep its a lot safer there and people are near by to help, duvel and snokio are there and are great help. So really how do you want to play this get a nice boost of random items from players at start or learn it all yourself ??  Hope this helps

Finally managed to build a hut with a bed.  I died a lot in it's creation

It's probably a good idea to get you into the tribe, that way you won't be killed accidentally by our defences.
