As per the thread title, the Darke Dragonfly is up for concept sale and as it complements the Caterpillar, CIG have also put that on sale, complete with LTI.

Both the Dragonfly and the Caterpillar are being worked on now and should be inhale in the not too distant future.

Heres a great video of the work being done on the Cat...it has, by far, the closest feel to the Nostromo of any ship I've seen so far:

The Drake Caterpillar is the closest thing for me to a perfect ship. It will be my first in game purchase once I get enough credits.



Scratch that, I just watched the concept video. I am weak and I am pathetic and I now own a Drake Caterpillar. :blink:

For everyone else, keep in mind that if you wanted an LTI ship, the Dragonfly is cheap, has LTI and you can then CCU it to something else (with LTI).

Good point. It's also worth pointing out that the RSI stats for the Caterpillar are all wrong. From hints made by game devs, to measurements made by Star Citizen geeks of the game assets, The Caterpillar is slated to be 100 -120m long dependent on a few variables such engine size and their exact placement. This makes it not far short of twice as long as originally intended. The description " The Freelancer's evil twin" has to be considered as completely obsolete now. The revised Caterpillar will be close to or as big as the Carrack and about twice as long as a Constellation.

I was going to melt a few things including the mini-hauler but its beautiful and the minute I set eyes on it, glass front, 2 seats. Lovely.
