In some of our recent missions i've been trialing different setups, first person only, no enemy showing on the map etc.  These missions seem to have been well received by you guys so i intend to start adopting these setups much more going forwards (will be fun in the jungle of Tanoa).

I also want to streamline the mission starts.  We sometimes find ourselves struggling to kick off as we all hover around the virtual ammo box trying to sort out our kits.  To alleviate this i am going to move to standard load outs, choose your class (or what the commander asks for) and off you go, simples.  As a basis for this i am going to make use of Folk ARPS F3 Mission Development Framework.  This framework has much more than just loadouts so i'm going to make use of some of this to to help with performance (body removal, AI caching etc).

Loadouts - I have changed the standard loadouts in the framework to be a better fit with our play including changing to British uniforms :D
If someone wants a specific style of loadout it can be requested and we can look to add it to our framework.
I am very aware that we'll see new weapons in Apex and these will be added in time, however, i am keen to avoid a situation where we have to wait at the start of missions while people find that shiny new rifle they saw the other day.
Having said all that, I am keeping the Virtual ammo box scripts we all love so if a mission particularly requires it we can use it.

Medical - The Framework has three types of medical systems, Arma 3 Default, F3 Simple Wounding System and Authentic Gameplay Mod (AGM).  I don't feel any of these particularly fit well with our style of play and so i intend to keep our current revive.  I'm working to integrate the two different scripts now.

Mission briefing - The Framework also have several templates for the mission briefing and we will make use of these.

Groups and group markers - The Framework has an extensive range of markers for platoons, squads etc.  This is far more than we will ever need so we will use the current script i've been using recently.  However, i have now edited it so it will correctly with the revive script.  When a player goes down his name will only show once on the map rather than the two written on top of each other that we've been seeing.

There are other components we may or may not use in the future but i will detail these and the other scripts we'll be using in a new post in the Map Editors section (when i've got it all ready).  Anyone wanting to create a new mission should use the download i'm creating as a starting point.

Sounds good, some much needed changes there. I'm a fan of the ACE style medical system, I would have thought it's similar to the AGM Medical system, but I doubt people will appreciate that change as it would be hard to get used to and to learn.
I only know my own ideas of other peoples ideas.

Ah, you've reminded me of another change i'm making.

Another reason to stick with the current revive system is it's spectator mode as well as its simplicity.  As and when we go down it can be very frustrating to have a blank or fixed view screen, i think we all prefer a spectator mode.

However, i do dislike the fact we then have the ability to zoom out and have a good look around spotting all the enemy in the area.  I mentioned the other week that i'd been trying to convert the script to the new first person spectator view introduced by BI but unfortunately it just broke the revive.  So, i have edited the script so the initial view when we go into spectator mode is at 2m from the person you're spectating rather than 5m, and i have disabled the zoom function.  This is as close to a first person view as i can get for now.

Hi Taggel

As Chaos say's our mission proper will kick off on Sundays at 8pm but ppl start to get on the server from as early as 7.  We'll normally run Camp Carry On, this is a small base which has all the vehicles, planes and helicopters which are pre APEX, so you can try them out.  It also has a Virtual Ammo Box with all personal kit and weapons, this gives a good chance to try stuff out and see what you like, we even have a shooting range.  Once you have a kit you like you can save it ready for a mission (a mission which has open kits that is).

Most of the missions we've been running lately have pre designated kits to speed up mission starts.  Please come and join us this Sunday if you can, check this post.

Btw, How much Arma have you played?
Do you have APEX?  (Don't worry if you don't as it won't be needed this coming Sunday)
