What's your preferred weapon?

Just out of interest, what is you preferred weapon and what do you primarily look for when looting?

I only ask as over the last few months, i have heard people get excited over weapon loot that i kinda wouldn't have and its made me question if what i am looking for is the right thing.  Personally the M416 is my fave, for some reason i tend to get more hits and kills with this than any other, mainly using either an red dot or a 2x scope (i cant hit anything with a better scope).  I kinda get excited if i can grab a SCAR-L too, mainly due to it packing a punch on single shot setting.

Another question, and something that i have heard mixed opinion on, what is everyone's opinion on the VSS? it doesn't seem as rare as it used to but i still cant hit anything with it but yet some people swear by it.

Also....does anyone else pick up a lot of grenades, smokes and flashes and never use them?

Scar-L for general purpose and close range.

SVS for mid range.

Of course, I usually die before I get to use either.

AK47, shotgun for room clearing. Love nades used them like we used to in Arma and CS

I'm usually happy to use whatever I can find, the worse weapon I have the longer I last before dying (hiding out) or find something good & probably get killed by the first person I come across without firing a shot.

Personally I aim for any shotgun, but the choke on the single action variants is essential! Then its just a reasonable rifle. I'm not that picky to be honest. There are people that swear by sticking with whatever they pick up first and sticking with it, or alternatively, swapping up throughout. But there is a point to be made that noone has said any sub-machine guns. I find that interesting considering they're massively underused. One question though - WHY THE UMP-9? Why not the .45? WHY U DO THIS DESIGNERS?!

It has to be the Scar-L with a 2x or 8x fitted can't say i'm really a fan of the 4x. And roll the Ump-9 for that close quarters. Of course cant forget the rear protecting frying pan

So I tend to keep an AKM although it's dependant on what ammo I'm finding.

Depending one the stage of the game, early game I like a shotgun as your in houses a lot, but in my exp if you get towards end game you're in the open so a secondary I'd pick an ump or uzi if I have the chance.

As for mods, I just stick on whatever works best at the time. If im lucky I'll have chance to swap those out but it's dependant on the situation in front of me

I prefer to run with a SCAR with a red dot and a 2x in my inventory and either a Kar98K or SKS with an 8x. That way I have the power and range to engage at distances and do close quarters fighting. This also makes it easier to maintain ammo as I have a 5.56 and a 7.62 rifle keeping separate ammo types. Ideally I like to have around 80 to 100 7.62 depending on if I have a Kar98K or a SKS and around 180 5.56.

On the subject of the VSS, I'm not a fan of it due to its drop off, lack of ranging and lack of stopping power due to it only being a 9mm round. It would be nice if you were able to put different scopes on it therefore making it more versatile. Maybe that's something they will change at a later date.

I like to keep a couple of smokes and frags in my inventory just incase the situation arises that i do need to use them.
