On the subject of general tips. I find it difficult to see other players especially when they are prone. I watched this video and all the general stuff for optimizing graphics applies but also he uses re shade at a minimal level to help get the contrast better. I'm going to give this a go as not being able to see the enemy in this game is driving me mad.

I also found this guys videos very good quality in terms of clarity and tips.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBU0hTxcbNs - Visuals with comparisons, summary everything Ultra except shadows and foliage very low gives anyone with a 1070 or better a high level of performance but the things that make seeing the enemy easier are set correctly, (shadows, wow what a difference they make!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIa6GrWhfBw - General strategy - very thorough, sensible, well explained with examples.

I've looked at using ReShade a few times & never done it, just put it on & tried it out in game set to how w t f moses has his in the above vid & holy shizzle the game looks so much better, I still got killed by the circle, but it looked a lot better whilst it was doing it.

I backed off on the Digital Vibrance from 80 back to 65% as it was too much especially since it persists on Windows as well. Other than that, I feel the Reshade part is doing it's job well, I can see enemies, still suck at killing them but at least I have a half chance!

All I changed was the ReShade stuff, I'm on a AMD card so I just ignored all the other bits - still makes everything sharper & the colours better & less washed out too, which is nice.

If you can withstand his whooping, this is an eye opener (for me anyways) on the forward targeting required to hit s running enemy with a sniper rifle:
