Just like last year we have some very kind people and businesses willing to sponsor some real ales or real ciders that will appear at the LAN for your enjoyment at a bargain £1.50 per pint. Some of these brews have been sampled by the now expert dMw GBBF drinking team, or have been sampled before and must make a come back.

REAL Cider #8

Awfully Offley
by Hardings

Sponsored by: Faust

Our final sponsor for this years Lan beer / cider, and it is provided for us by our one and only Faust who also will be making the long trip to see us all and taste what he has sponsored. Lets hope this Dry cider is better than his Dry humour or at least he does not start the jokes before several pints of beer have been devoured. Big thanks matey from all of us..

Harding’s Awfully Offley is Back by special request! Due to the great 2013 Apple harvest we were able to recreate the great Dry crisp flavours of 2011 for the St Ives and Abbotsley beer festivals in October 2014 which went down a storm with Huntingdonshire's cider connoisseurs. Coming in at 7.5% this Dry cider should be interesting.

I don't think anyone has tried this one but as we are having the very popular sweet cider from Hardings I thought a good idea to try their "special brew Dry" for the last sponsored barrel. According to the brew manager who I spoke with you can mix the 2 different types of cider to make a medium dry which apparently has an excellent taste. So in theory we have 3 ciders for this Lan although not sure how brave you would have to be to mix 1/2 pint of each together at 7.5% ABV.

Chaos: I wasn't much of a cider man either, because to me cider usually meant that god-awful swedish stuff. Grevens, Halmstads, Rekorderlig etc...

Then I tried some proper ones at a LAN once, and since then I've always tried the cider wherever I go. Some are bad, but some are truly good. Then you get into the real/crafty/craft ciders and find there's a whole new world open to you :D
