This may seem a lot but regarding the metal, it's just two laps of the new metal area down south on the Anky (30 minutes).  Two minutes on a bear for the Fibre. Two minutes on a Beaver/Thorny Dragon for the Wood.  The Hide will take more time but I'm sure most of us have a good supply hidden away in boxes.

Also bear in mind that it's not essential to have the hatchet and pick (or possibly even pike) as they're not regularly used so the reality is that the cost is significantly less.
