I was talking to the pubg community manager today and he was telling me all about how to have a private server on pubg.

Okay.. How does one do it? If we can do it then maybe we can ask the LAN overlords if we can have a dMw PUBG match. Currently, custom matches are in BETA and it seems that there is no way to create them in game which leads me to assume that they need to be created externally and may need to rent a server.

Sneaky you may now enlighten us

When you create a game on pubg you are given an instance on there hardware servers, u can then set game parameters such as game mode, weapons and password protection and set group size.

So this was something I looked at a couple of weeks ago. Yes it lets you fire up online custom servers and does seem to let you tweak some of the settings. It may be suitable for LAN use.

However, it remains a totally unknown quantity. Really, we need to find out how it works with all of us connecting from the same place. That, combined with the fact that community engagement in PUBG seems to have died down considerably since we last talked about it as a LAN game, means we haven't made anything official out of it.

That said it's already on my list for something I'd like to test. I was planning to wait until we have a quiet spot, ideally either Friday evening or Saturday, and ask for anyone and everyone with the game to hop on and see how it goes. If it works as a test run, we can look at it as a tournament fixture for the next event.

Any thoughts on that from you guys?

Sounds good chaos, I don’t play this as much as I used to but the idea of a dmw death match is something I would get behind if it can work for us at lan. I think it could be a good little game and get some really competitive vibes in the lan room. Should be fun

Oh why not do a poll on it and see out of the people going to lan, who would be interested in joining in and playing ?

This could be an issue, we'll have to test the theory come October.

I think its worth noting a lot of us stopped playing because the custom game feature seemed to never be coming to light, this opens a lot of what we were initially hoping to do with PUBG

We seemed to be ok connecting as squads at the last lan, I can’t say I experienced any lag or anything, hopefully it should work fine
