LAN XXXV Packing List, Instructions, & Schedule

Please read through carefully, especially if this is your first LAN.

We will be collecting LAN fees (SEE HERE) ON ARRIVAL. Please bring cash for this (there is an ATM down the road that you'll have to nip to if not).



[FONT=&]Hardware[/FONT][FONT=&]

PC and Monitor - 1 only. Don't forget your power cables!
Keyboard, Mouse, Mousepad.
Joystick, Xbox Controller, etc.
Headphones - no speakers!
Duct tape - to tape your cables down!
Ethernet Cable - Cat6, ideally 3m+ in case you are far from the switch.
Extension cord, preferably a 4-way ([/FONT][FONT=&]:norty:[/FONT][FONT=&]) and surge protected.[/FONT][FONT=&]
Money - how else will you buy us beer? [/FONT][FONT=&][/FONT][FONT=&]

There is a bar 10 yards from the LAN room, and a highstreet (with a fine Kebab establishment) 20 yards away.


The hotel gives us a heavily discounted rate on our rooms, and gives us the LAN room for FREE. Please respect the arrangement we have had with them for many years and the relationship we have built. [/FONT][FONT=&]Do not[/FONT][FONT=&] bring in alcohol from outside. There is a bar for that. Snacks and the odd salted seahorse latte from Costa are generally ok, but please bring such things in discretely (i.e. through the door leading directly to the LAN room, not via the public bar), and don't take the proverbial.[/FONT][FONT=&]


*Do not mess with another member's gear.

It might seem funny to screw around with someone's desktop as a joke, but the LAN room is not the place. Things can easily be taken the wrong way.

*Do not smoke in your hotel room, in proximity to it, or near the LAN room.

The hotel has a no smoking policy when in, or in proximity to, the rooms. Ignore this and face a hefty cleaning fee.

*The hotel has a strict no drugs policy, and the right to call the police should they find evidence of drug use on hotel grounds.

The use of such substances in the hotel or grounds is strictly forbidden.




Games List

We are playing Chivalry on the Saturday - it can be purchased from key sites for a few pounds if you don't already own a copy and want to join in the fun!

Not all of these games are GUARANTEED to be played (apart from the Saturday tournaments), so don't rush out and buy a copy unless you're sure you actually want the game.

As most of you will know although these are the games we are running (sort of) structured events for, many others will be played at the LAN. Bring along whatever you fancy!

It is a good idea to run Steam/Epic Launcher/Blizzard Launcher the night before the LAN to make sure you are up to date. There should be working internet at the event, but it is better not to have to rely on it for your 30gb update Friday morning.
