All the Baldur's Gate games and their spin offs are outstanding games, the best you can get IMHO. I'm not touching this till it's complete though. I don't fancy spoiling the final experience by playing through their beta first.

Same reason I have bought Subnautica Below Zero but haven't installed it yet. Only when it's done :)

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

As a DM and Person who loved Divinity the game looks amazing but as smilo said I will not be playing this till its fully complete. I know that loony has it and loves it he has spent a lot of hours into it. The games looks to play well and if you know 5e D&D then the combat is completely the same and fair play to get for getting that right. Even talking to people I have seen has all hidden roles in it to see if you spot something or see if they are lying. Looks to be an amazing game but I will be waiting, then look forward to do it with 3 others.

You not having played previous BG games might be a good thing. I put quite a few hours into D:OS2 and in the end I enjoyed the story (as far as I got) but hated the combat system. Previous BG games were Real Time with Pause (RTwP) which I much preferred, as opposed to turn based combat. (Note: I'm not a D&D player, but I get why a tabletop game needs that type of order, I've never wanted that experience in a video game). That said, I'll probably still get BG3. when it's fully released, I'll start enjoying the story and then quit when I get fed up with the combat. :)
