pc trouble

[FATAL]

i put some memory into a friends pc + connected it to the internet and updated xp sp1 ect.......
took it back plugged in and switched on,
loads up xp fine until the stage where it's spose to load up your desktop,
then the moniter go's blank ,power light flashes on/off and when i press the menu button for the moniter it says: out of range
                                            H: -31.5khz
                                            V: +70.4hz

anyone now wot i have done
all i can think of is i plugged my moniter into the pc and its settings have change as my moniter is a flatronf700p

boot into safe mode and set the right monitor (remember to only display refresh rates the monitor can support)

Soz I couldn't help out Fatal, I'm not an technical dude for comps and so. Glad it's solved now.
