my new pc is a P4 presscott 3.0 gig, i'm using the fan supplied and the cpu temp is 60 degrees :o, is this normal, i have 12 fans in the pc, so i think its the cpu fan cuz it only spins at 2500 :(

My P4 2.53GHz 533FSB sits at 42 when idling or light 2D use. It is being cooled by a Zalman Flower fan running at about 1600 RPM so don't get hoodwinked by RPM alone. A slow RPM with a lrge fan can be as effective (or even more so) thana small fan with a high RPM. Quieter too ;)

Not sure about your temp though as I'm not sure what is "normal" for one of those chips.

BTW have you a lot in the case?  12 fans seems like complete overkill and you could actually be doing more harm than good. airflow has to run in just the right way to cool things. Too many fans and the air gets pulled in all sorts of directions and you can end up reducing the cooling capability of your machine.

Read this thread too.

Be aware that there are lots of problems with BIOS reading your P4 temps incorrectly, so always try to make sur eyou have a current BIOS.  There have been reports of temps dropping 15-20 degrees simply by updating the BIOS
